Medical Technology Research provides custom engineering, consulting, and contract software services for companies developing products for the medical market and for end users who are trying to find solutions for their computing and network needs.

We have decades of computing and network development experience and have developed and implemented products for major industry leaders. We have a thorough understanding of many products on the market today. Give us a call. Initial consultations are free. In the event that we lack expertise in any area, we'll tell you. If you wish, we can help locate someone with the right experience.

Systems Infrastructure Consulting

  • Your employees complain that the system response times stink! Well, maybe a little more memory would help, maybe a faster CPU, maybe faster disk drives. Why guess? Why spend money needlessly on upgrades when you have no idea what that money will actually get for you? Sizing a machine and evaluating its performance is a scientific and deterministic process; it does not have to be a guessing game.

  • You want to install 3D X-Ray, you want to have online access to all of your clinical data, lab tests/results, and you want to integrate all this with your patient records management system. Do you know what the bandwidth and performance constraints of this system are? You should determine these and other parameters before you start to purchase and deploy any equipment.

Find out if your infrastructure is running up to par. Know what your equipment is doing for you and whether you are getting the most for your dollars. Let us analyze and evaluate your infrastructure. Sometimes a few simple changes can revitalize a server that appears overloaded and slow and extend its usefulness for another year or two.

Network Infrastructure Consulting

  • You have no network, where do you start?

  • You already have a large investment in your network and it does not perform to your expectations. What can you do?

Software Consulting/Custom Programming

  • Your software almost does what you want.  You want just a little tweak here or a little change there.  Let Medical Technology Research either make those changes or take your case up with your software vendor.  Maybe getting those changes that you want into your software isn't as hard as you think.

  • You have automated billing and calendar software.  Now you want expand your use of automation software.  Let Medical Technology Research help you evaluate and select software and a vendor.  There are enough products out there to fit almost any need.  The tough part is figuring out exactly what your need is.

Systems Integration

  • I have legacy data on a UNIX system.  I have new data on a Windows NT system.  I need to access data from both.  Where do I start?  Can I do it?  What will it cost me and how long will it take?

  • My record keeping system is running on a Windows NT server. Can I get an Intranet running on this server as well?  Maybe even internal email?

General Consulting

  • What is the difference between wireless networking and telemetry?  Do I need telemetry in my hospital?  Can telemetry co-exist with wireless LANs and/or other wireless services?

  • I am interested in wireless networking.  Can I use it in my facility?  Is it affordable?  What exactly can wireless do?  What are its strengths and weaknesses?  Can I monitor patients in real-time over wireless?

  • I want to access data between campus locations.  What are my options?  Should I use fiber optics or go wireless?

  • We are using cable modems to communicate with our server.  Are our communications secure?  Are any wireless communications secure?

  • What is a firewall and do we need one?

  • What are NAT and NAPT?  Do we need these in our network?

  • We've heard about security policies.  What is a good policy?  All my employees have had background checks.   Why should I worry about internal security?  Sure, I use consultants and contract programmers--what is there to worry about?

If you need answers to any of these questions, we can help.  Contact us today for your free consultation.
